Two of these identical set ups. Both have served me well since purchased new in 2011 from Outfitter. One lived in a docking station its entire life from the moment I unboxed it-probably had 25 calls made on it. The second I used in my global travels and it has given me a great method to check in and communicate in all areas of the globe. I'm moving on to a base station for the boat and a new handheld for my traveling- hence the sale. Both are in perfect working order- simply purchase an Iridium SIM card and you are good to go. Both phones have a single battery and standard wall charger. Also included is the optional mobile package to include the 12v lighter plug power supply, external mag mount antenna for the top of a vehicle of roof as well as the mobile adapter to connect the external antenna to the phone. There is also an ear bud, the manual (one of which is still in its plastic) and a quick start guide. It all fits in a handy padded case. The padded case was designed to fit perfectly in a small pelican case, I believe model 1200. 400$ each, shipped fast to your door.

Out of curiosity...

What does it cost for a sat phone to be used? Is it air time, a plan or by the minute? Just curious..

It's much like old school cell phone plans were. You can pay monthly with a certain amount of airtime built in, or just pay as you use it with very little monthly fees and just a tad higher for use. Prices have come down so much it's really affordable. Sure your not blabbing away and texting videos etc but if you want to be able to check in or call for help etc it's a great option.

Seriously...this is a good price for you to get into a sat phone. I have one of these and is a very good piece of equipment. I also use a newer one and prefer the older sat phone. Buy these...period.

Yep. The new model of this is half the size and weight and has a color screen. In return you get 1/2 the batter life and 1/4 the standby time!

Or you can buy a prepaid card ( that is what I have on my 9505 ), you normally get what your estimated consumption for the year will be and where you think you will use

I prefer the worldwide plan, and usually I purchase the 600 min card ( often comes with a 20% to 50% bonus mins )

mins do not roll over year over year, but there are card plans for
1 mo
3 mo
6 mo
1yr
2 yr

The longer the time to consume the higher the price

Hope this helps you to make a decision to buy this phone

Model looks like Iridium 9505A

You can pay as you go as cheapest option but reload phone before a year is up so then you rollover your minutes. I just bought today a reload for 250units for $275 dated for a year. Normally 1 unit = 1 minute, but you get charged from when you call so ringing, vm etc is billable. They're very expensive to call, best person messages you and you call back on sat phone. I have a couple of Iridium but my fav is Inmarsat. Be sure to look at their network coverage, they can vary.

Do you still have the one (or both) left? If so I'll take it (them).

My last SIM card expired today, so up for sale it goes. Identical to the set ups above, but with hands free kit and all tucked together in a pelican case. In perfect shape, and shows almost zero signs of use. Most of the accessories I never used/ the external antenna, earbud, 12v socket charger all new. 500 shipped fast. May consider trades, try me.

Great phone sold for a great price. I have used mine all over the planet and it has never let me down. I use this antenna when I am stationary. It is the best accessory you could buy for this phone.
