Interesting fleabay find

Link shot to me by a friend:

Gotta be more to any number of aspects of the story...but would still make for a nice trail rig.

I have seen similar trucks at the AUSA show in DC every year. I think BAE brings them in an has them up armored. They have had up armored and stock ones at the show.

True. I stumbled upon an uparmoring company in Springfield, VA a few weeks ago. They had a yard full of illicit trucks and cars, but I am sure they are exported when done.

yeah but the way that works is that you post a bond on entry which is released on export.

Wow, over 9k views on that listing, but not a single bid was placed, and now the seller has ended the auction.

I'd think it would be more suited to someone putting an old FJ body on it. Maybe a powertrain/drivetrain transplant to a 110?

A bit expensive start for a trail rig though.

Didn't realize it had ended back in December.

Here's the Bring a Trailer post on it:

I'd say it looks like the perfect candidate for a 60series swap...

The bonded importers can bring anything into the country, and like said, they get the bond back on export, but they forfeit the bond if it doesn't leave. There isn't any problem as long as it doesn't make it on the street. Ted Turner has new 110s running around his "backyard", its just like buying a racecar. If you are a bonded importer tho and you cross the big boys, they come down on you really freaking hard. Like, impound vehicles, keep bond, fines, lose bonding status, etc.

Its the same backyard that they use horses/ranchers to keep the Elk on his property....
