Not mine but I did import it. Its a 1980 series 3 high cap- from what I understand there were very few of these built. Cool truck.

Doug, what is it about the truck that makes it a Hi-Cap as opposed to a regular pickup?

haven't looked at this one, but typically Hicap has a seperate bed like a Stateside Ford/Chevy p/u. A reg 110 p/u is just a bulkhead behind the front seats and allows a full h/t, s/t, or p/u cab.

two pictures a regular truck and a HCPU. Notice the difference in the tubs and the width of the tubs.

I have 2 x 110 HCPU's in stock.

Dan,
HCPU's have a bulkhead @ the back of the cab and then a totally separate bed as Julian says. The hcpu also has a double wall bed construction on the sides so items in the bed don't dent the quarter panels like they do on a normal pick up. The bed is 4-5 inches wider that the rest of the body giving more space in the load bed. Lastly the normal pick up have a normal load capacity rating. The hcpu's are considerably higher. For instance my 130 is a 1.25 ton pickup. A normal f150 is a 1/2 ton pickup. Not sure what a series 3 109 is rated, perhaps someone else here does.

Standard SIII HCPU has a payload of 1 tonne.
With optional springs, dampers (also different ratio steering) it was upped to 1.3 tonnes.

I forgot to point out that the hcpu is also longer than the standard. High caps overhang the rear cross member by a good bit 12 inches or so,giving considerably more load capacity and enabling longer items to fit in the bed.

Hey guys, thanks for the info. So no changes to the drive train, just suspension and body part differences. Just trying to learn a little.
