Arrow FS: ICON CJ3B "old school"

With all the discussion of Icon last and this week. I feel its an appropriate time to listing "the DOG."
I have their dramatically more capable than the original flat fender Willys Jeep for sale... that one of my longtime clients has asked for my assistance to sell. Its only been driven on pavement 1556 miles. The Icon CJ3B comes with a GM-sourced 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine and is handbuilt using a custom-designed chassis, coil-over suspension with Eibach springs and Fox reservoir shocks, and heavily modified Jeep Wrangler Rubicon axles.
Only 10 examplles of the vehicle will be built.

How's it drive? On the highway, much better than I expected, especially considering the seven-foot wheelbase. That's not to say the CJ3B rides well compared to a traditional car – it doesn't – but when contrasted with an actual 1943 Willys CJ3B it's miraculous. There aren't any doors and the top is basically a sunshade, so at 70 mph the "cabin" is a fairly rough place to be. Still, none of this should come as a surprise to Defender owners.

An Icon fact : There are no air tools used in the finish/final assembly phase of any Icon products. Hand torquing every single nut and bolt guarantees the level of quality control Icon wants and the products demand.

Watch the videos on making their trucks. They machine the knobs. So much attention to detail.

Here's '63 CJ-3B I built for a customer a few years back for use in the desert. It's on a boxed CJ-5 frame, front and rear Dana 44s, 33s, 4.11 gears, ARBs, new Chevy 350, T-14 tranny, Dana 300 t-case, lined interior, dual fuel tanks. He also wanted a removable winch, hence the center receiver in front.

Total cost was just shy of $20k.

A few things could be at play here, Jon.

1) If you ordered a new dog today, I doubt it'd arrive in the next two or so weeks at your doorstep.
2) Martin noted it's 1 of 10...hence "rare" (perhaps even more so than other lines ICON has offered in the past).
3) Because it's "rare" some of the same depreciation calcs used on other cars doesn't necessarily apply here.
4) Listing states open to resonable offers
4) Probably many other factors

the purchase price was just north of 100k. The "Dog" for immediate delivery on Icon's site is the new school, this is the old school and it was purchased with alot of options that the one for sale does not include.

-windsheild wipers with and heater ( look at the dash controls on both)
-power tank with accessories
-winch with accessories
-the seat cushion material is upgraded, chilewich woven vinyl textile
and chilewich bimini top
-LED auxilary lights on front bumper and under rear bumper
-rearseat
-stereo system

thanks for your comment

thanks for shedding some light

Its almost frustrating that they cost so much. The Dog is certainly a serous piece of machinery and maybe a bucket list contender.
I run a 1997 FJ 40 with 106k which is an awesome looker but in need of everything. Maybe i'll lose my mind for a moment and try to pick one up.
Thanks for the response and good luck with the sale. Maybe i'll catch in Fl when i'm done next time around march.

I forgot another option that was added at the time of order.
-Sport Brake Package with slotted and vented front rotors, slotted rear with powder coated red calipers

The paint color is called Volcanic. The CJ is finished in a super durable Teflon-polyester powder coat, heat cured Polyurea (line X material) provides a durable surface to protect the bottom and inside surfaces.

Love these Icon trucks. These seem to follow the spirit most of us have with our D90's. Utilitarian, rugged, simple, bulletproof. Really wish they would do this with the D90. I talked to J Ward about 3-4 years ago before I got my D90 and he said he had to plans in the future.

Seems like good price too when you account for all the work. Very fair.

Awesome truck.

I think they are "VisionX". The 8 light version.

Was thinking of putting a pair on the front of my D90.

Bwahhahahaha!!!

Horsey I still love the D90 best but I just could not let this pass. It's like DD90 said. Not that different than the D90.......I just needed a SW to add to the stable.

I'll use it to tow the D90 to events
