FS/FM: 1957 Land Rover Series One Pickup

Friend/acquaintance is likely parting with their 1957 Series I pickup. Price is still up in the air (hence I posted it in FM)...but *likely* somewhere in the $8-12K range if that's feasible. Some brief overview below, and sorry for the crappy low-res pics...for some reason when I downloaded them they came through like that - I'll be getting better pics shortly.

1957 Land Rover Series One Pickup
Mileage 87,582
VIN 124700077
This is a rare classic, started life as a tow truck for a mining company for many years. Shown in it's original AA Yellow (still original paint with some proper patina), which was unique to these vehicles during the 50ís as recovery trucks. After it's life with the mining company, it was purchased by a collector/enthusiast who drove it in a well known expedition from Canada to Mexico. From there it was purchased by it's current owner in California, and has been on their property there ever since. Itís a true survivor and needs another enthusiast to keep it running and in shape.

Contact me if interested and I can put you in touch with the seller and/or get you more details.

seems a bunch were made.. this is from the owner of the one with the galvy frame.

The yellow paint is what was specified by British Columbia Hydroelectric when they ordered a few dozen of these Land Rovers from the factory.

Land Rover pulled these trucks out of the assembly line and instead of painting them RAF blue, grey or bronze green, they all were painted yellow.

The rumor on Guns and Rovers is that Ike picked it up. It is in his neck of the woods and he is the S1 guru out there.

It is a lovely truck, ins't it.
