Free paint

We just cleaned up the paint shop and we have a pile of "out of date" paint in most Defender colours. The paint isn't bad, we just can't use it because of the way the paint manufactures run their warranties (if we sprayed it and had an issue it would not be covered). So think of it like day old bread.

Free for the taking. Paint your Defender or your ???

We can't ship paint, so it would have to be local pick up.

Thanks Doug and Mike. If you can bring it to Romp that would be awesome. I need some Beluga Black for some SW doors I've been waiting to have painted. I'm still trying to see if I can make it up there to Romp, so I'll let you know.

Didn't see any Black (that is base clear and it lasts longer)

Lots of little bits left of various colors, but some real quantities of:

Arles Blue
Bonatti Grey (full gallon)
A tan that is a little darker than Limestone (the last Safari Car we built)
Chawton White
Pozzi Blue (Ferrari color)

Some BRG (not a lot), Eastnor Green and Consition Green as well.

We are open until 2 on Fridays (work longer the rest of the week).

I'd like to have the Arles, too bad it's local pick up only.

I will do my best to get there by 2. Could you box it toss some plastic over it and leave it outside the gate for me?

Looks like any and all of it would get used. I can use the arles the grey and white for sure and likely the other blue for a friend. So I'd say between all romp attendees we can save it!

Thanks mike, we cheap ass vultures all really appreciate it!

OK, will put in a box by the dumpster.

I hate to see it go to waste, so glad to see it go to get used.

I will grab it tomorrow! Not that far out of my way to romp.

Thanks so much - it will get used! My e30 325ix needs paint.... That grey could be sweet.

Ian boxed the stuff and wrapped it in plastic. It will be out beside the dumpster. There is even some ceramic clear in there. That stuff is tough as hell.

Enjoy.

Thank mike! You rock.

I'm STILL at the shop..... I stupidly touched a fuel line that looked like it was leaking... Now I've just finished replacing BOTH lines from the tank to the center of the truck. Ha ha.

And I found a pin hole in the rear diff cover while swapping a Detroit third in since he stock diff had a nasty howl. Sigh. So I'm fixing that. Old junk....

Already put a new starter in this morning and changed the oil.

I'll get there but it's going to be a bit later! Ha

Ugggg.

Got her going and there is a nasty noise in the transfer case.... Thought it was the rear diff but nope. CRAP!

I am still on MDI and have not left yet. Not sure I am at this point. Poop. Damn it.

So I'm sorry all - but my large amount of fail today has possibly out an end to me making it out of here. I'm about to pack up the audi and drive down and bum a ride with someone else tomorrow. Crap.

------ Follow up post added February 14th, 2014 07:06 PM ------

Can the paint freeze ok? Or is it dead by now? Crap.... This day has sucked.

Just in case this thread gets dragged back up, all the paint is now gone.
