Free AC unit from 94 D90

Was in a box when I bought the truck 7 years ago. I am not going to use it and have no idea about if any parts work or not. Don't want to throw out if anyone can use. In the DC/Northern Virginia area. Can post pictures if anyone is interested.

You think you are ... But arguably you were asking questions rather than committing to a transaction.

I'm happy to let the board arbitrate based on rules and typical practices round here.

Got a PM from someone local, if he can pick it up and save me the effort of figuring out shipping I am going to hand it off to him. I'll update if that falls through.

Thx

Each of you write a 500 word essay on why you deserve the box of parts.
Then we will vote on who wrote a better essay.
Next you will arm wrestle.
The competition will conclude with a rap off or a dance contest and only then will the board assigns a winner.
In the event of a tie Jeff Briggs will shoot an apple off of each of your heads with a cross bow. If you are still alive, you get the stuff.
Good luck.

That made me laugh. Why are all the sweet deals always happening on the East Coast? How come nobody in Las Vegas giving away free Defender parts?!!!

I'm offended by your comment...

You are clearly mistaking me for Freddy. I don't get free parts. I overpay for them, keep them for a while and sell them cheap.

I think he was first. He said he's INTERESTED based upon the answer to a question. The question pertained directly to the item and was relevant to any "transaction".
I don't know what "Licked" means.

Usually when I am very interested in a part but have a question that will effect whether or not I commit I'll say "I'll take it pending the answer to my question(or pics)".

Its a mute point but typically 'licked' round here is a commitment to a transaction .. if money were involved it would have been a commitment to pay the asking price.

Interested could mean anything ... and generally is not a commitment to a transaction merely an indication that more information is required before a transaction is potentially agreed.

This discussion does come up from time to time and hence i deferred judgement to the community.

Jeff has to shoot the apple off my head from his house while I'm stood in my house and the other fella is in his?

I'm heading to Columbia MD on Sunday morning for a weeklong class. If the system is still available, I'll drop by to pick it up saving packing/shipping troubles. Let me know.

The characteristics of a transaction is worthy of its own thread.

Bob, make it out to our Happy Hour tonight at Kilroy's at the intersection of Braddock Rd and the beltway. Festivities start around 5p.

If not already picked up, bring that box of AC parts and your Defender. We should have a good showing tonight and can determine what you have (and what it worth) for the lucky person taking it off your hands.

Send me a PM if you have an questions.

The old AC stuff may be R12 or R134. The expansion valve will need to be replaced if it's r12. That will run about $25-50 depending on where you buy it (Egelhof is the OE manufacturer) Along with all the O rings.
Since Jonathan sold off our community hose crimp tool, you'd have to either go to a shop and have the hoses made, or buy a hose crimp tool (and sell it or return it after you've finished)
I have an evaporator housing and an evaporator from a D90 if anyone is interested.
