Federalized Rovers North 110

Interesting read on this, looks like RN imported it 27 years ago and had it federalized way back when:

It was legalized for the US by company in Connecticut. It has a clear Massachusetts title. It has a clean carfax. Mechanically the car is in very nice shape, it was just serviced. I have just about all of the service and history records since the car was brought into the US. Cosmetically is has some minor wear and tear, but nothing out of the ordinary for a car from 1985. It also has some minor rust under the doors which can be seen in the photo's, again nothing major. For additional information please contact Jim at 413-374-8561. Thank you.

Import laws changed in late 88. Up until then anyone could bring in a vehicle and take a "once in a lifetime" epa exemption. Vehicles had to be brought up to the then lame DOT standards.
Thank Mercedes Benz NA for our current "anti grey market" laws. I still have a hot rod BMW brought in then "in the good old days"

That would be cool if they still had that "once in a lifetime" exemption. Pumas for everyone! You get a puma, you get a puma, you get a puma...

Does anyone have a time machine (or a Delorean) I can borrow?

Cool truck. My first ah ha moment, when I thought, "damn that's cool", was one of the 110s imported by RN. After stalking the owner for a few weeks, I got to know the family that owned it and 20-30 other rovers. I was hooked.

Looks like someone is looking to make some serious profit on this truck. I almost bought it from the original owner in 2009 for $13k but already had my 110 and couldn't justify two... Another member bought it instead (bitz I think). It had a really rusty rear crossmember, interesting that the photos don's show the left side where all the rust was... The door bottoms were rusty too, not sure if bitz fixed any of that.

Odd to see a wiper on the back - was that standard on an '85?

My '85 110 has a wiper on the rear door, as well as the early rear washer reservoir bag in the door.
