Expedition Driver Wanted



must have min 10yrs Expedition driving experience.
For 6months a yr you will be driving Land Rover Defender 110's or Toyota Land Cruisers driving scientists studying genetic diversity of isolated populations of wild cattle in Tierra Del Fuego & possible mineralogy study in PERU.
Should have knowledge of semi-float/full-float solid axles w/understanding of inner workings of air lockers and E-lockers. Equestrian skills required to reach remote areas.
The other 6 months of the year you will be working on all facets of our semi-annual independent scientific quarterly. you will be expected to do all or some of the following: sell ad space, create apps, assertively pursue empowered intellectual capital, interactively pursue sustainable platforms, assemble cardboard boxes (of various sizes) and make deliveries of our journal throughout New England and Nova Scotia. You will be expected to be in the office 25-45 hours a week and be available through the cloud at all times. All employees also are expected to maintain personal blogs to promote our expeditions and journal.
Must have clean driving record, tenuous family ties and knowledge of flag semaphor. Bush EMT skills preffered. Temple Grandin/Bud Williams cattle handling skills a must. Nights, Holidays and Weekends A MUST. Next expedition leaves Port Authority NJ on 12/23/14. Please include resume and cover letter in response.

This might be another good option for my mid life crisis. Certainly cheaper than owning a defender!

This sounds a lot like a compulsory offer ad that firms have to run in order to secure a work visa for a non-US worker. I used to work for a firm that had to run similar ads in order to prove to the INS that we couldn't identify a domestic applicant that had the requisite skill set as compared to a particular candidate that we wished to hire. You will occasionally see similar ads run in the WSJ for jobs at investment banks (although without the cattle herding and semaphore skills with about twice the hours and other specific experience and skill requirements).
