Can someone local take some pictures and give an assessment of condition on them? I could use a project 88" (although the 109 coiler frames and a 109 pickup sound like a killer combo) but I don't have the time to run up there without having a better idea of the condition and price.

CAUTION SOURPUSS COPY TO FOLLOW:

There are no bargains in that mess. They will ask the moon for absolute garbage. $500 for useless rusted schmidt. Pah! The coiler chassis they are touting have been sitting around the storage for minimum 10-12 years. I tried to buy one for 2 grand and they told me to get lost back in October. Hmmm singing a different tune now eh? Caveat emptor.
The ONLY thing that would be of any value, but I bet they're all corroded at the bolt holes anyway, are the 2A wings which are absolutely unobtanium these days.

Willing to bet they'll sell complete trucks only.

Good luck with that!

Barking up the wrong tree IMO if that is what you are after. Then again, if you are going there, who knows?

Why bother with all that when there's a perfectly respectable 109 5 door project locally for similar all-in money: http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/n...169098823.html or there's Jon's ex-mod 109 even closer to you: http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...&highlight=109

I've seen this in person if anyone wants to chat about it. Had a non-D90 friend that was interested in buying it so I went and gave it a once-over with him.

Maybe you should look closer to home:

Don't forget the truck cab 2A sitting in Ron's barn. That would be a pretty cool build as well.

I'd love Noah but I'm guessing Ron would want too much for her, if even willing to sell.

I am not ready for it yet so the only incentive to get it now would be a killer deal. So until I commit to the project, all I am interested in are crazy deals. That will leave more money for the conversion (to electric).

Well I live just down the road from the old ECR field.
Been looking at those Trucks for years. Not sure of conditions but would be willing to hold anything someone buys here at my place until transport could be arranged.

Any chance you'd be willing to see if Mike would let you take a good look at them and take some pictures?

Well this is Maine, I pretty much think I could wander about and do what I want on the lot. It is just out there in the middle of nowhere. I am currently traveling on business but will be back in town next week. Anything in particular you would want pictures of?

You can email me tom@wrigginshilltopfarm.com

Funny, I tried the same thing about 4 years ago (buying a 109 coil frame for $2k) and was told the same thing.

Wasn't long after that I got frustrated with my project and parted it out. You recently bought parts from said project ;-)

At the request of a forum member I went and took some pictures of the ECR Graveyard. I couldn't get any underneath shots as I left my smaller lens at home and most of the trucks were almost sitting on the axles. There was also significant overgrowth of weeds. I would say by and large the bodies are in pretty good shape. The frames look to be any range from significant surface rust to crumbling to touch. There were a couple of good looking project trucks. The 109 pickup caught my eye. I am not an expert on rovers so you guys will know the nomenclature better than I. There were a couple of 4 door wagons and one pickup. It looks as though there have been a few sold as the ground cover is clear in a couple of spaces. There is one truck you will see sitting by itself that has a not for sale sign(don't touch) that actually looked pretty nice. I would say in my very novice opinion that if the price is right a couple of these might be good projects. Price will be the defining item I would guess.

I created a shutterfly site for the pics as they are too big to post.

Did they ever call you back after you dropped off your resume?

Why not give them away to a good home rather than scrap them? Seems re-tah-ded.
