The Blue 109 is a done deal. We have the FedEx tracking # for the payment and 2 standing offers behind that if this falls through.

We still have 3 or 4 left, and then that is it.

300tdi

It's funny LR still has stock. How many I don't know. I have personally ordered 2. They are stamped International of Brazil on the crate. Long block only. There is also a company in the UK that builds them for the military, full built motors like the 2.8. Trying to figure out logistics and pricing with them. Hopefully I can get somemore info shortly.

I was at the Dealership last week and the Hella Edition was there, apparently the new owner doesn't like the wind noise

Ok... I stop

Just curious - what does a brand new 300tdi from LR cost?

The Blue Hella? Last time I spoke with the owner he loved it.
I've got buyers for that truck, I'll have to call the owner. Thanks for the tip.
Guess that Badger top wasn't cutting it for him.

We have had some of those 300s that are "International" units before. They seemed to be a little better performing to me. We have not been able to source them new for a long time.
When we say new engine, we mean new entire crate engine, not just the long block.

Soon. I have not had much time for web updates recently, but have been trying to put stuff up on Facebook as it takes less time than the web site updates. In time I'll get caught up with all the build up pages.

I know it has AC. That was more of a comment for my best friend in Maine. Truck looks awesome. Another great job. Good luck with the sale.

On a side note when you restore trucks for sale and not for specific customers do you personally lean toward 300 tdis? I see some restorations have v8s and others have td5s but the last two for sale have been 300 tdis. Is that more of a favorite because of the lack of electronics etc?

Mike,

I am sure he is loving it, is a very nice truck ( hopefully gets some time off the pavement ).

But that is what I've overheard his dislike was......

I guess so on the Badger , you can clearly see the opening where the wind would get into the truck, but I think the Owner would share with you all the details better than my involuntary eavesdropping

Thanks for the insider info.
I can certainly see his point, and I have a solution for him.
I'll give him a ring.

The "spec" trucks are always 300 Tdi (until we run out of engines, then they will either be 2.8 or something else we come up with) because it makes the 110 more unique. If we did them with a V8 then the sale of the truck would compete with all the other V8s on the market. The Tdi gives it a little something extra for potential buyers. The Td5s are only done for customer order, due to the added cost of installing that more complex set up. Also, for where most of our trucks end up the simple diesel is a better option in terms of easier to service with no electronics.

I still find it hard to believe no one can find pics of the red or green hella trucks.

That's because Ron probably already has them tucked away in his garage.

I spoke with him this morning. The truck is not for sale. He just does not like the top and he is going to work on some options to make it more to his liking. He said he has no plans to sell the truck.

I have been stalking both of them for 7 plus years. Both were in Ohio on last check.

Oh well, should have bought it the first go and just assumed I would still have a job as opposed to being cautious.

It's weird that no one even has a picture of them. Paging Horsey. Can you find some pictures of them?
