ebay - yellow 95 D90

does anyone know this D90? looks pretty clean.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/121561892495...84.m1435.l2649

I contacted the seller, but he wasn't too helpful, other than mentioning the softtop is worn out and has a few holes in it.

I'm not sure exactly what he means by this:

"You can beat 2nd syncro which is typical but not an issue if you drive it normally"

They are a local dealer who seem to get there hands on a few 90's a year. I would be happy to go take a look if you are interested. Barry also knows of them

I'd be extremely grateful if you or one of the other local guys could take a look.

I've been looking for a Defender locally (South Florida) on and off for the past few years but the prices down here are ridiculously high.

transmission issues.

You may also find this useful - it was for sale here for $20k "recently" - it looks like whoever bought it didn't want to hold onto it for very long.

rijosho,
thanks for that thread, very helpful. sounds like it was underpriced at $20k and didn't actually sell at that point. the Carfax only lists 2 owners with the most recent sale date of 9/30/13. Dealer claims over $6k was spent in 2014 to replace the clutch and recondition the cylinder heads. but doesn't sound like the new clutch took care of the transmission problem.

The ebay listing is closed. Assuming the seller received an offer offline.

Yeah exactly. They could have spent the $$ a little better. Ask for the receipts.

Good that the dealer is being brutally honest here. How refreshing! But I don't care how perfect the LT-77s or R-380 is. It will not shift like a car. There might not be an issue here. Could be $hit fluid or even gear oil in there. Wonder if they already tried sorting with Redline MTL or similar. It is worth a try.
