I'll bet they also threw out any of the old service records that indicated any mileage or service that was completed over the years, to help back up their fabrication - i.e. they only show a single photo of records and it shows 722 miles in 2011...

Looks like there's quite a bit of wear around the insturment binnacle...almost like someone was in there replacing the speedo or something.

Amazing what people will try to get away with. They must think no one checks carfax or autocheck ever.

So upsetting. Why lie? The price reflects an RRC in great shape, it's not like he is looking to get 25k for the thing so why not just tell the truth about the miles, what's the big deal.

HAHA - I just tried calling (321) 252-7742 aka 321-CLASSIC and the first time I called it rang once then said "The person you have called has a voice mailbox that has not been set up yet. Goodbye"

I guess that takes "If you have any questions please email me or call me prior to placing Your bid" out of the equation.

Horsey, I saw that wear on the binnicle also, but when you look at the steering wheel, that's what really gives it away. That's like 100,000 worth of wear on the steering wheel.

I'll take Keith's '05 for $13k over this grifty bit of marketing thank you very much

Thanks,

Sent him a email about the mileage question.

Edit: Guess I shouldn't expect a quick response....

On a related/hijack note I may be in the market for a reasonably priced RRC if anyone knows of one. Prefer white or black, LWB, and the later years with the 4.2 motor.

Also, he bought it from CT through a salvage dealer, not AZ as he states.

He said there is absolutely no misrepresentation on his part...does everyone agree?? I don't know if this is how he usually sells, but it seems he's purposely misrepresenting the truck in order to make a few bucks - he has 100% feedback - I told him he shouldn't have to resort to that...that he's probably doing more to tarnish his name with the way he's selling this truck than he has on other listings.

Josh, to someone who knows RRs, this one is clearly questionable. For those who don't it looks pretty good, I'm sure. So when joe no-nothing buys it and finds all the problems the already poor rep of Rovers will be perpetuated.
Lav, I see you have caught the fever. I hope it's not from Pedro's hooptie! Never go more than 2 grand for a RRC or you'll be overpaying.

That's crazy talk. You get what you pay for. Go over the truck with a fine tooth comb and spend good money on a rust free, clean truck. A $2k RRC is likely a basket case.

My friend, I have had the Rover fever for way too long!

But yes, I'd like to pick up a LWB RRC to: a) quench my secret long-standing desire to have one, b) use it as a winter driver to keep the D's off the road for the winter while driving something with heat that actually works.

I don't mind paying in the $3s for a well-sorted one. I'll post something in the Wanted section, but for those folks into the Classics please keep your eyes open for me.

Oh, you'll pay well into the threes that's for sure.
Jonathan, the last RRCs I have bought were well under 2 and certainly not basket cases. Granted, they all need brakes and tires and belts and hoses and stuff. I consider all that as just part of buying any used car tho.
If you don't mind doing the work yourself you will be way ahead of the game. Keep your eyes out for bodies with as little rust as possible. They ALL LEAK LIKE CRAZY so the worst places will be under the driver and passenger footwells, the rear cross member and the wheel arches. Jeez Rob just took his all apart inside to kill all the rust and caulk all the places he thought the water was getting in. It still leaks.
Love it when it's raining and you try to get out and get that waterfall off the gutter onto your leg.
You will have to deal with rust sooner or later. Jonathan's may be rust free now, but it won't be for long in this neck of the woods.

The Hooptie is a man's truck.

It's not for Jason... He needs a HSE.

but few of them are in the $2-3k realm! Nice trucks though, though all with the minor issues you'd expect. Hit my email if you want to go shopping in a parking lot of Rangie history.
