Debating value online is pointless, there are people out there willing to spend the money. A low mileage d1 v8 sold for around $20k in CT. Clean is key

As I said in the other thread about Disco's, the important part is the body and interior. The mechanicals can be fixed cheaply and easily.

The value of a clean D1 is only going to go up.

Look at it this way. Let's say you want a 300Tdi Land Rover with 4 doors, A/C, leather interior, a few really tasteful mods, and fresh paint. In a Defender that's going to cost you $40k+

A super clean Discovery at $18k doesn't seem so bad.

Of course the Defender has it's own appeal and this is a Defender forum so opinions may be skewed.

Its going to be from one of those rust free states. I'd be looking at NV southern UT and CA.

The one I got from Oregon is mint.....and I will price it accordingly when it's done(mostly because I have no interest in selling it)

But yes, ultimately it comes down to corrosion issues and interior quality. There are so many parts that are just not available anymore. I've been hoarding the quality parts I can find to complete it.
