Did they take this 90 too far?

1989 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 2.5 4CYL HT DT 5D DIESEL | eBay

Underneath, really not as much done as the radical bodywork would suggest.

Does this belong in Rovers that suck thread?

I don't even think it qualifies as a Rover anymore but it does fit the suck category!

it's running sals front and rear, like having Dana 60's, You'd be hard pressed to break anything in the drive line on such a light truck and could easily turn 40" tires. They use Tru-trac's because it probably spent it's life on a muddy trail, not in the rocks and you'd never notice the difference between those and ARB's or Detriot's if that's the case...

Lot's of bling with the shocks mounts but it's a lot more truck than you think...

I'm sure those rear shocks are super effective laid over at 45 degrees.

It's a purpose built trey back truggy probably used for competition no big deal. Look at the winch up front. No need to hate.

Does anyone know what the regulations are for these 'challenge' trucks? I always scratch my head when I see one that has a considerable amount of fabrication time and money sunk into it but still runs the stock suspension configuration. There's so much room for improvement that I would think that's where everyone would be focusing their efforts, but maybe they're not allowed to make substantial changes in most of the classes. Aside from the Gigglepin guys it doesn't seem like many of the UK folks are pushing the envelope.

Not much Defender left at all on their latest race car. They're using a lot of the same technology as the Ultra4 cars here.

What's hanging off the back? With that kind of air, maybe it's a propeller!

Looks like a pull-pal type device. Something to anchor into the ground when there isn't a tree nearby to use when winching!

I always drool over those 8274 dual motor conversions. Only $4500 for Gigglepin's top of the line model!

What exactly do you think they should improve? These are simple vehicles, doing very simple things.

Or is it just that they do not reflect your personal opinions? Or are you talking about LMP1 style multi-billion dollar racing programs?
