Wow...a physical representation of why I love Discos.

Interesting that the livery doesn't quite look like the 93 Sabah Malyasia trucks based off a quick search-as if it's actually a 93 CT Disco it would in fact be the winner's truck since the US drivers won that year.

The kit all looks about right, and she certainly looks like she's seen some action. Fascinating.

Sold! Newman...

It is sold.
Newman probably saw it a millisecond after it went up, flew our with cash, and is driving it back to VA right now on his RR plates!
Like a secret agent man... honey gotta go, "duty calls".

As of early this am it wasn't sold- and he has two locals looking this am. Seller is very nice, and seems trust worthy- is purportedly taking buyers in order of their inquire ;-)
It is complete, and the damage was incurred when it fell off the trailer at 70 mph!!
Of all the times for Bill Burke to be in the Utah back country....

Thats a 200tdi so probably predates the 93 event. Get the VIN and call special vehicles. Looks to be the real deal right down to the tires.

I wonder if it was a team selection truck...

Regarding the 200TDi, I thought they used that through 94.

Saying it is still for sale is just not fair...far too tempting.

This is awesome. Quick search of the names on the wing shows that this is probably from the 1993 Sabah Malaysia event.

Damn I want this

The names on the side tie back to the 93 US team, but the livery isn't quite right on the truck (unless someone took off/added decals post event).

True. It was probably stripped of all the decals and signage. Hell, that CT plaque was sold on here fro a couple hundred. The rest just looks seriously neglected and sun faded. Rally trip computer looks like the right thing

Def has the right kit in terms of rack, brownchurch brush guard (god I wish they still made those), tires/wheels/etc-along with interior. The addition of the Michelin sticker on the rear door is what gets me. Doesn't quite match with this:
http://www.cameltrophy.co.uk/history/1993/Sab10.jpg
or
http://www.cameltrophy.co.uk/history/1993/Sab6.jpg

Regardless, it looks authentic to the program regardless of specific application and I'd take it in a heartbeat.

Maybe it was used in a local rally of some sort? Im sure that it was probably not immediately put out in the field to shrivel under the sunlight.

I want to call this guy but if there is already a line, theres no point to it.

Been following this since it was posted. I believe this may be the same truck (see link):

http://www.oramagazine.com/pastissue...-old-iron.html

Excerpt from the article linked above:

"The Discovery shown belongs to Tom Collins the U.S. Camel Trophy Team Coordinator from 1990 to 1998. Collins coached the team to a first place finish in 93 and 2nd place finishes in 92 and 96. He competed in the 87 event and fought a hotly contested battle with the Italian team, only to get second place by a handful of points. The old Disco lives in retirement, a gift to Collins from Land Rover for his many years of service as the U.S. Team Coordinator and for being a driving force in their off-highway instructional team since 1989."

Getting to see the pics on my computer, I see the name Michael Hussey and Hensley. They were the US team in 1993 and won the Camel Trophy. I was lucky to ride shotgun in that truck off road in VT after it was repatriated to the USA.

Last I heard of the truck it was totally trashed in an accident in Mexico.

So I'm guessing it was rebuilt with available parts as best could be recreated.
