According to the seller it now has both some wiring problems and a transmission problem. Not sure of the details yet.

Sounds like conjecture to me.

I feel kinda stupid because I had to look up what conjecture means... It seems pretty apparent to me that if the shop did the install a year ago give or take and the owner is having problems it would indicate a shop problem... Maybe I am missing the boat here though. Obviously you have had a better experience with Larry so I will let it go but my 7+ years experience with him seem to be very consistent to what the current owner of this truck is experiencing. And the same experiences that rover4x4 had.

I will now pipe down...

Yeah, follow Jon's lead - I think its best to keep the criticisms here firmly grounded in fact. If you feel the need to mention some specific problems, by all means do so, but at least that allows readers to draw their own conclusions and interpret the facts for themselves.

As a disclaimer, I don't know Larry or anything about him.

Please understand, there are facts that lead me to make the general statements about him, but I do not own the truck in this thread nor have I dealt with its problems so in regards to this truck it is speculation based off of prior factual experiences.

I have personally spent a lot of money on my truck undoing what he's done to. I have no issue speaking out, this is a small community. A lot of people have had good luck with some of his work I am sure. Ive had nothing but issues.

I had a chance to talk with Larry today about some parts for one of my projects. While chatting with him, I asked what he knew about a "Phillip from Raleigh" who owned a green Defender. I got quite an interesting story. He has offered to do more than I would ever do for the likes of you. As I suspected dude, you're a real piece of work. He does more for the marquee in one day than you have ever done.

I hope to meet you on a trail someday.
