How can you justify that, and will someone actually pay that much? Seems like if you can afford that you would just go overseas and have one built for less than half that price.

Dupont is always overpriced, even years ago when they would have a 109 or 88.
Apparently they think Tdi means "Turbo Diesel Injected"

Some NBA playaa is going to pick it up, have the coils chopped in half, a PHAT sound system installed with 3 25" LCD screens in the cab, and have himself a hooptee. That way he can find his ride in the parking lot of hooptied H3's and Escalades. Do they make spinning wheels in 16"?

True, but you'd be very lucky to get it in and keep it!

Ha!

Does anyone know if this was build here or in the UK?

Julian,

True, but you'd be very lucky to get it in and keep it! I know getting them in is hard but why can't you keep it if you have it here? You keep posting cryptic comments about it.

Matt you can keep it if you can prove its on its original chassis with 80% of its original parts and the powertrain it has complies with EPA regs. This is what you will need to prove to the govt, if it was made in the USA, then you need to prove you have a manufacturers licence. Don't take this as fact, but this is some what i have been told by the DOT, the EPA and the NHTSA. Problem is that your country doesn't know which way is up, most state laws conflict with federal laws.

All are enforcable, luckilly for most is the fact they don't have the manpower to catch every illegally built/rebuilt vehicle in the USA, as were talking about all manufactures and thousands of vehicles.

------ Follow up post added September 16th, 2011 06:28 PM ------

Personally I hope the sell it and loads more like it. Fairplay to them if they've found a niche.

When I see something like that it makes me wonder why they were attracted to that type of truck in the first place. Maybe an Escalade would be a better candidate.

I am willing to sell my 1987 130 for $163,000. One year newer and $2,000 cheaper. Willing to staple on as much bling and add as many monitors as you wish. Hell, I'll install a 46 inch flat screen with a PS3 with a leather sofa and two recliners in the bed for $163k.
