Really !!! You must be the only one.

Where have you been reading ? They possibly are the biggest scam artists in the UK. Covered extensively on this forum. Many of their trucks have literally not even made it miles from the port after clearing customs, dying of blown engines etc.

LOL, I saw that too. I'd be more worried about the frame being indignant!

Yeah, these 2 sentences crack me up too;

"Seats in good shape expect for the driver side. Several switches on dash."

Auto spell? Doesn't anyone but me proofread before hitting the send button?

Anyone know this truck? I think the trail pics are turning off the logic center of my brain. No idea of undercarriage / door / bulkhead rust etc. though...

Looks like a fun truck. Probably a healthy challenge if you need it to be a daily driver. It'll probably perform substandard on the highway but around town and on intermediate trails they're a ton of fun.

1989 Land Rover Defender 110, 5 Door - Charles

Listed in Seattle but wonder if anyone might have had a look at this one in Denver? Looks like a fine rig. I haven't seen many galvy frames but sure would be nice.

Well it says the chassis is original and galvanized...so it's one or the other. Looks more original than galvanized. Pretty pricey for an old RHD V8

Well there's this:
http://easternshore.craigslist.org/cto/5166514410.html

And I woulda gladly look it over for anyone, but I bought it myself. How many clean rust free exposed hinge trucks do you see anymore? I know right?

Agree pretty damn pricey for an old RHD V8. Someone was telling me recently that some of the South African Defenders were fitted with galvanized chassiseseses. I never looked into it further though.

Thanks Bill. Brian this thread is more for "cheap deals" not to post really every truck you find and want advice on. Feel free to post a dedicated thread for any truck you want feedback on though, just saying it'll get messy and confusing if you keep posting them in here.

I suppose if it were a CKD program like I've read it could have been galvanized.

Jeff Bang/Nomar and I just bought a 93 Lwb off craigslist from the tv personality Robert Kulp @ Black Dog Salvage
a show on the DIY channel. Sadly she will die so that others may live and prosper.

Interesting for sure. Price is pretty high I agree but there is always that glimmer of hope that I could find a gem at a bit over the typical rusty rig pricing. Well I suppose back to the search board I go! I should have explored more once I was in South Africa but just didn't have the time. I do appreciate the thoughts and help.

I'll claim that one...

https://roanoke.craigslist.org/cto/5168475766.html

Haven't had a chance to post it everywhere yet. Love this Rover, but making a move to a 5-door wagon to be more of a kid hauler. Would love to keep both but wife's looking at a bathroom remodel

See more pics here:
https://drive.google.com/folderview?...VU&usp=sharing

FYI - Doug looked at it today for a board member. If others are interested, I am open to meeting you on the trail or wherever it's convenient for you to take it for a test drive within about 50 miles of Roanoke, VA.

Thanks,
Greg

.

This truck has been all over EBAY for months , if I am right it belongs to a guy in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Not sure if it has been shipped yet or still in Europe.
