Is the market really demanding 30k+ for non-running NAS trucks? Seems like just a few years ago you could make off with a high mileage project for 22-24k

I think that's fair for a '97 non-runner.

Sadly, yes. Keep in mind it's a 97.

He wrote to say "about to take $25k, do you want to do better?". It's a nice $20k truck all day long, even $22,500. Last summer, she would have been a $15k truck. Times have changed.

Miles unknown, rusted out, interior crap, dented, random hole in body, non runner.

I spoke to the seller yesterday too. He asked so I told him it was a $20k truck IMO at best. That thing is either a total diamond or a bottomless pit. The lack of use for 10 years and the oil light on when they last drove it is a little scary. Time and the patience of Job will be the top two ingredients for resuscitating her either way.

I am kind of jealous some of you are close enough to this to see it in person and kind of glad I am so far away from it.....

Hopefully it is not a total money pit and someone from the source grabs it for a decent price!

I will be surprised if someone local that sees the truck pays $25k.

With the unknown miles, last documented at 112k, even in top shape it will be $35-40k. You are more than $10k away from top shape on this objective POS, so the margins are tight to in the red at best, even if you do your own work.

No, although I'm tempted to go over with a fuel pump relay and get it running for him. Should really put some time into my own truck though.

I too think this is something that needs to be drivable to be able to decide if it's worth more than $20k. From the pictures I have seen it's a bit rough and will take a fair amount of time and money to bring it up to snuff.
