Am I missing something. Why are there so many of these for sale all of a sudden? I wish I was stock piling them like cages for resale

my guess would be the "re-built" 25 year old market is gaining speed - which for now is pretty easy to do. Defender - or really 110 - production started in '93 - so 2008 was the first year. Before that, you had to build on a 108 frame and it was a little more...blurry... importing a re-build.

A 1983 and a 2006 Defender 110 can be visually very similar -particularly to a customs agent. Now motors are another story....but again, to a customs agent....

I wouldn't be surprised to see an import clamp down in the future.
