... perhaps the transport driver lost the keys and it's stuck on top of the carrier not to be unloaded. Don;t laugh, happened to me with a Rangie...

I can't wait for the day Barry and Josh meet face to face at the National Rally in say...2 years. Barry will look at every black Defender there while Josh is looking for Barry's blue Defender... they meet in a middle of a huge Defender circle of all the various colors as their eyes meet... they give each other a little smile and make out.

btw I write for a gay book publisher.

EDIT: Josh let us know when you get it so we can check it out!! next week works better for a meet up.

Or better yet, if Josh dosen't actually get his D90, Barry will make tiny incisions into his butthole with a razor blade while squeezing lemon juice over it. Then he'll yank out his colon and stretch it out 10 ft so 2 black girls can play double dutch on it.

Neil and Barry, thankfully I can't imagine. Poor horsey, guilty by association.... but at least 3k miles apart.

I think it's just shoddy service from the delivery company. My series is on the way and my driver is sending me updates along the way!

Wow, looks like I provided some suspense! Sorry.

It arrived yesterday. Holy crap that was a long yet enjoyable day! I picked her up around noon, went straight to the DMV, argued for an hour why I shouldn't pay the tax, paid the tax, got some license plates, had the hottest and meanest DMV lady (from past experiences) strike up a nice conversation with me about the rover...she claims Paul Miller Land Rover now has a zebra-print-painted Defender 90 and that she didn't agree with it. haha. Anyway, drove it to my gf's parents' place to take off the old license plates, etc. and to relax for a bit (her mom loves the truck, but it troubles her all at the same time), then drove to Hoboken to meet up with some friends. Got some crazy wobbles along the way (I'm thinking either wheel spacers or tire pressure), but arrived just fine. Zipped out some windows and drove around a bunch, then met up with the gf later on to go back to pick up some of my things from the Canal Street apt, and get some dinner down in Tribeca (outside seating so that I could keep an eye on my baby of course!). Then brought her back to Hobo and parked her in the city garage. That was fun as well, as while I entered the garage and passed below the "Clearance 6'8''" sign, the attendant gave me the inch signal with his thumb and index fingers. Drove all the way up to the second level at about 2 mph fully anticipating a tap of the roof-top hellas or rear of the cage, but all went fine! Looks like I now have a garage that can fit her (I dont think my tires are filled though).

Some things I learned all in one day:
-DMV ladies are way nicer when you have a D-90
-No matter how loud anyone tells you a ST is on the highway, there's really no way of explaining just how loud it is when you're on the loud highway pavement, between two 18 wheelers, wobbly truck, KM1s, etc. AND THE TOP WAS ON.
-I seriously hate my driver's side footwell!
-With all of the spare parts, I feel like not only have I just moved into this apartment, but so has my Defender
-I need to figure out a cooler-looking way of getting into the driver's seat
-Girlfriends will just never understand
-I love my truck

Here are some pics, but my Internet connection sucks here, so more to come!

Scratch that, pics coming later. Internet is sucking.

Josh,

Congrats. But your pics don't work.

DMV sucks.
ST are meant to be loud and obnoxious. Ear plugs work.
Great you have a garage spot.
My girlfriend told me she is going to create a forum about her so I can I pay more attention to her and not D-90 source. Understood.
If your selling anything I want dibs.

Welcome to Defender ownership.
