Depending on how you read the listing, it's also ~306,000lbs of "Unprepared Heavy Melting Iron"

After the M151 debacle (trucks were torched in half as the demill and later welded back together), now the process is more stringent and contractually binding with heavy fines. Looks like they have a brief you have to attend to find out what's required.

The mere fact the gov't isn't keeping them for spares is quite telling and we'll start seeing a lot more meet this demise.

True, but at this point I bet most of them make an 84 110 look show room fresh.

Have an uncle that used to buy in bulk direct and retail out (buy bottle and sell shots). If you have any specific questions send me a PM and I can ask him about process, etc.

His largest buyers were one-offs and militia guys out west that would buy dozens at a time...

Having spent many hours riding in those, and wishing I was in my way more comfortable 110, I'll pass.

the surveillance plan states that you can not remove and a single spare part. Everything has to be "shredded or pulverized"

Such a waste to destroy all of those. They are a little wide but make a good brush truck for the Fire services out west and in Florida. A bunch of Fire Departments could use those....

They are likely past their service life. If they were good enough they would have gone to the depot for refit/refurb. It would cost a fire dept a lot of $$ to fix and kit out for fire duty.

I agree. This is like Washington Flyer or any huge taxi company at a large international airport selling off 10 year old taxis. They will be total pieces of shit.

Lotta costs they will incur by getting them for free...parts and maint will be VERY intensive.
