Frame is completely gone, but looks ok otherwise. Newer front doors.

Offerred 11k and was shot down.

Sales manager wants the full 13k asking.

Bets someone will flip it onto eBay in the next couple of weeks ...

I am still mulling it over.

It is not one where you can hide the rust. The rear crossmember is basically gone. Maybe a new rear crossmember saves it, maybe not, but I could not tell because I don't have pics of the rest of the frame.

If it were a ST (advertised as monza so I assumed ST), I would have paid the $13k. I just have no use for a HT. An ST, I could part out and get the money I need for the cage and then use the rest as a donor.

Ditto. Thought it was at first, as they listed it as Monza Red. Gotta love Portofino in a sw , though.

Called and had cell phone pics emailed. If it were an ST or if it did not need a whole frame, I would have bought it.

Wow, so I guess that's what a life in OH - one owner - will do to a frame.

Well it looks like it is going to be flipped by golden 747. It deserves it as the interior and body (other than the lower bulkhead) looked great even the cappings looked ok.

Just not quite what I was after.

Maybe the frame can be patched, but I don't see that working long term.

That frame looked Ron-good, did it not?

I still think if everything else was good then it's not a bad deal, 97's command good money.

Clean title and a 110 frame and you have a good project.

Actually, I bought it as my first step into the Defender community. Owned a Jeep for 10 years and sold it when my first child was born. I have wanted a Defender for a long time and this looked like a project but at a decent price. I won't be able to pick it up until next week but would welcome all feedback as to what I am getting myself into. One thing I would really like to consider is a TDI conversion as I my daily driver is a diesel truck. Also, what is an estimated cost to replace the frame with a galvanized chassis?

A ST or 110 has always been my dream so all ideas for the project are greatly appreciated.

Congrats on the purchase. You may have trouble in NC with the diesel swap (depending on what you go with) because of the OBDII inspection requirements, but I'm not 100% on that.
