Not an awful price, but they'd likely sell quicker if it started at $750. Someone will pick it up. Seems like very few of these go up for sale these days.

I'd suggest that if the seller wants to say "as new", they should at least clean it up and maybe re-dye it black (i.e. clean up the dirt).

Yup. They don't need to say such nonsense to sell it..

The radio hole has not been cut, which is very odd...

While the price is high, it is not unreasonable, I bought an extra one in excellent condition for not much less than that.

Yeah, never seen one where the hole wasn't cut. Didn't all 97's come with radios in that specific spot?

An extra one wouldn't be a bad idea, frankly.

The going rate for a decent usable one on this site has been about $500 lately ... If/when they pop up. For less than $1250 you could have one custom made or get the one Ashcroft makes. Seems high. Maybe it come with a gold brick or a bag of diamonds.

You have to divide his prices by 3 to get what the item should usually sell for. It's the main reason none of his stuff has sold over the past many years.

Given what an Ashcroft knock off goes for with shipping this doesn't seem absurd for a mint original.

I thought I saw a pretty large dent and chip to the rear of where the shifter would insert into the console, and it may just be the pics, but it also looks all scuffed up.

Yup, it was pretty bad. Like I said, take 15 minutes to hose it off, dry, and then spray paint some black plastic dye on it. At least 75% better afterwards.

If paying that kind of coin, wouldn't you want the seller to NOT touch it? The chance of someone's fix/cleanup causing more harm than good is all to real.
