This is so not smelling right. You'd think that there would have been some peep out of the seller by now, but nothing but the pic email sent to "undisclosed recipients" that we all recieved. What the game is I'm not sure, but I think I'll not play.

I gave up when the masses started- too much technology anymore for the good deals me thinks. On the other hand, it does save racing all over the country for scams- of course, there didn't used to be so many scams prior the technology- ummm

Sorry Dale,

You are not allowed to complain about deals for atleast 6 months since you scored that sweet diesel disco.

I sure could have used a nice daily driver like that but you were too damn quick

Well it is legit. For some reason the guy chose me - said I sounded the most interested. Not wanting a ton of strangers going to his father's house where the truck is parked I don't think he called anyone else back.

The bad:

Doesn't run
Fiberglass top and paint faded.
Needs windshield and gasket.
Has rust but the worst is confined to the rear cross member and nas bumper and the door hinges and the bonnet frame and brush guard. There is a small amount on the floor boards but the bulkhead looks good. Some on the axles - nothing a wire wheel cant take care of. Oh there is a dollar sized rust spot on the capping on one side and some surface rust on top of the tailgate.
No forward facing rear seat but 3 jump seats.
Something wrong with the wipers.
Been sitting for about a year although carfax record ends on 2006. Was caught ip on divorce settlement

The good:

Body straight, stock, one owner.
Hard top never removed so cage and interior in good shape.
Tires in good shape
Has brand new soft top in the box. Have not seen it but he says never used

Anyway I think it's a safe bet so I'll seal the deal tomorrow am when the bank opens. Time to find a place to sleep

Not sure how you can sound more interested than "I will bring cash and be there in 2 hours" as I told him, but so be it. Congrats on your golden ticket! So what are you going to do with it?

That is a great deal. I can tell you white rover paint is very forgiving. Compound that paint and I bet it turns out fine. Cosmetically should be easy.

Mechanically is it dead? Any idea why?

Thanks everyone, and thanks for the hospitality last night. Deal is done - just need to go back and get it in a few days.

As far as the deadness, I put in two new relays but no go. If you squirt a little starter fluid into the intake and turn it over it will start and run for a couple of seconds. Engine sounded fine

Thoughts?
