I can't imagine that it's any different--same compound and tread pattern.

It does pay to sipe your tires, though. You'll get better performance in slick conditions and the tires will last longer because the lugs wear less when they can move around a bit.

I don't believe Michelin has made an XCL in many years (20+). It is now called the XL:

I am referring to 900R16 Michelin XLs as advertised in the first post of this thread.

With respect to performance of the 750R16 vs. 900R16, the tread blocks are much larger and the compound is harder. They are designed for 12000 lbs axle load limits and they perform very poorly without a significant load on them. They do look cool.
