Green one looks great! I have a brand new Hannibal should anyone need/want one:-) by the way. I did get a little detained at the 101 I must admit. Thanks for posting Doug, and a reminder to all- URE6 is FREE this year including dinner IF preregistered (max of 2 free), see: www.theoldnorthstate.org/ for details. Oh yea, and remember, the 3 door can be topless as well- forgot to add that pic :-(

On ebay uk there a quite a few cheap import eligible Rovers including a 3 door with a 200 TDi bid at 1475 pounds no reverve. If you are on the East Coast near a roll on roll off terminal shipping is usually straightforward.

Jeff,
I apologize but I wasn't able to get out of town in time to go see the truck as my own 110 decided to be uncooperative.

Thanks for trying Brandon. I'm sorry you had problems with your truck, hopefully you still had a good time here.

I got to drive it on Friday and looked over it some more. One outrigger, I guess, that holds the body to frame, had been replaced. The rear spring mounts looked pretty rusty too. That was the first time I have ever driven a defender, RHD none the less!

Well I am officially a Land Rover owner now. I waffled a bit but decided to go for the one for sale locally that I test drove. I picked up this 3 door 110 the other day. Overall it appears to be in pretty good shape I think. It came with service records dating back to 2001. Thanks for all of your advice

Glad to hear the news - good luck with the truck and keep us all updated on whatever you do to it.

I looked at that one for many months myself. I think you got a good solid truck at a great realistic price.

Sexy.

May I make a first purchase suggestion:

Also, if you want to swap roof tops for one with alpine windows and are in the greater philadelphia area, let me know.

Ron- Good eye sir. Thanks for the lead on that decal. I wasn't sure where to go to find that, but now it's on its way to my door step. I'll consider that roof, I do like the alpine windows.

I still can't believe I have one after wanting one so long!

Josh as far as I know they still have the driving school at Biltmore. The guy I bought it from is an instructor there I think. A friend of mine was an instructor there a few years ago also. I might have to investigate...

The blue is good, just a lot of it! I'm thinking of painting the top Sandstone and trying to remove paint from galvanized cappings to break it up a bit. I also favor Arles blue a bit more than current color, but that's a pretty big job there. One step
at a time

Well not too much so far but I have done a couple of things. I made a hi-lift jack mount and a receiver hitch to make the truck a bit more useful. I found something at the scrapyard that might turn into a brush guard soon. Oh I also took the rear mud-flaps off. Still thinking about how to pull off a 200tdi swap. If anyone wants an old diesel engine that would sure help fund the swap... I'm not sure if it's the 2.25 or 2.5 that is in the 1983 models. Josh I gotta say it's a blast to drive around in one of these trucks, you need to get one!
