And the only way that truck will retain that value is if you don't drive it. Seems pointless unless you are a collector.

I was just about to post this. I was thinking the same thing. Must be the same seller. Same images, different truck. Is it no reserve?

Yeah--I contacted the seller and this is what he said:

The car is still for sale and the price is $17,200. It is located in Houston, TX, registered on my name and the title is clear (VIN SALDV2244VA114723 - no lien, accident free), It has done 23,700 miles. I'm a trainer pilot on fighting planes, my wife broke up with me recently because I'm always away from home(right now I’m deployed in UK for 9 months. We fight on Mali). We just sold our house and split the money. This is the last thing I need to sell and split the money with her. Because I'm away most of the time, I will not be able to deal in person, but I've already arranged the shipping and the title transfer anywhere in the US and I will pay the shipping fees.
Also you will inspect the car before pay me, so if you are interested on it, let me know.

I just have to steer clear---I just don't believe in good deals unless I can deal in person and even then...

Classic scam of I am in the military and wont be there for the transaction. I even had one email me a copy of a CAC card; scammer obviously had no idea he was dealing with a service member. Card was a horrible forgery. Guess this scam still works if it is still going.

I also had an e-mail from him and it's clear this is a scam. Glad you posted about it.
Hello ,
Here you have some pictures:
https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=1C67703F715B7C96!183&authkey=!AJQA2YJA EM3u3ww

I'm ready to sell it for $17,800. The car is registered on my name, it has done 27400 miles. The title is clear (VIN SALDV2244VA114723 - no lien, accident free). I'm the second owner and I've bough it with only 2300 miles on it from an pilot. I can assure you, you'll never find a car like this one on the entire US. It is located in Houston, TX and I'm selling it because I'm not in US anymore(I live in UK with my family now). If you like it and want to inspect it let me know and I will arrange that.

Thanks,

It's been popping up around the Internet recently. I hope people are googling VINs as a measure of minimal research. This truck ended up in Massachusetts last I checked.

It's back up for sale. Last time it had 2,200 miles - now it has 20% more miles, at 2,600 ... and they're asking at least 20% more! I could have sworn this truck went from CA to MA (not through Copley) and was titled there, but now it's being sold out of PA. Anyone with an open AutoCheck or CarFax who can confirm?

1997 Land Rover Defender 90

Edmunds boasts about the Defender 90, "Here in the United States, the Defender is a rare beast, having been sold in low numbers for only four years. With so few sold, finding one should take considerable time and effort. But for those looking for a dedicated off-road SUV fit for a queen, the Defender is certainly worth the effort."
With that said its hard to pass a Defender 90 of this caliber and condition. The last year the car was ever imported State side this car is a great example of ruggedness and brute looks. Come in to McLaren Philadelphia and take a look at this great Land Rover.
VERY RARE!! LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90!! ONLY 2K MILES, PRISTINE, 2-OWNER, GARAGE KEPT. You are looking at a 2-owner 1997 Land Rover Defender 90. This vehicle is a rare find with only 2,612 miles on it!! This Defender 90 looks fantastic in Beluga Black Paint that shines in the sunlight. The Slate Grey Interior is extremely clean and has no signs of wear. It is equipped with Air Conditioning and a Kenwood CD/FM/AM/SAT reciever. The Rover is one of a kind and with the low mileage and impeccable condition the car. We are selling this vehicle As-Is.

I know a few of the employees from cars and coffee and charity events (usually take my lotus). I am sure they would not mind, but I am not sure why I would want to test drive a D90 when I have one in my garage.

KEITH!! It looks like Copley Motorcars now has it for sale for $125k. Unless the photos are of another truck, it looks like a snorkel and front skid plate has been added recently.
