2009 Santa Cruz Heckler

This is an amazing bike, that goes up just as good as it goes down. I bought this brand new last year from Huck and Roll (backcountry.com). I'm only selling to upgrade to a more freeride or downhill bike.

This is the RAM build with X9 rear dérailleur, Race face seat post, handlebars, and stem.

It has a Fox Float R rear shock in great shape, and a rock shock revelation dual air front fork..

Frame size is a medium..

It has some scratches from use, but nothing major. this will be a great bike for some one.

No trades..

2600 new last summer

sell for $1600.00 shipped

Thanks for looking

Nice rig...what are you looking to get? If you haven't done so already, I would recommend posting on www.pinkbike.com and www.mtbr.com

I've had good luck selling bikes on PinkBike (sold a Transition Blindside, Giant Trance and Trek hardtail plus a bunch of parts there)

Nice! That's a sweet bike...if you haven't committed to buy I would recommend checking out a Transition Blindside as well. Really nice bike and I miss it everyday since I sold mine!

http://www.transitionbikes.com/Bikes_Blindside.cfm

Had mine set up with a Fox 40 up front and a set of Hope V2 brakes with the vented rotors and it was ridiculous! Unfortunately there isn't enough riding around here (northern VA) to justify that kind of rig

This is a pic before I added the Hammerschmidt (which I love!) and '10 Hope X2 along with a set of Continental Mountain King UST's. Also a shot of my Blindside...wish I hadn't sold it!

Hey Jeff,

Nice bikes! Where do you ride in NOVA? I didn't know there was much down hills for that type of setup.

Those are sweet..

So how was your blindside when you had to pedal up?

It was ok but I used it mainly at ski resorts with lift service. I had the Roco WC Air on there which was really plush but also didn't take pedaling as well as it probably could. Using a Fox RC4 or Elka would probably give a little better all around performance. Also, the bike has provisions for a front derailleur but I would recommend either toughing it out with a single ring (I ran a 32T E13 Guide Ring) or a Hammerschmidt would be awesome. The other thing I loved about the BS was that it had a 73mm BB shell and used a 12x135 rear axle so parts didn't have to be DH specific. As it sat in the photo the bike was about 40lbs but I bet I could have gotten it down to 37-38 pretty easy by going down to a set of 2.35 Neve's or Maxxis tires instead of the Intense 2.5's and the V2 brakes were about 250g heavier per wheel than a set of M4's or 300+g heavier than Avid Elixir CR's. Don't get me wrong, the V2's are the sickest brakes I ever rode but they were definitely overkill for everything I did.

In case you get the itch, I highly recommend the guys at DropNZone (www.dropnzone.com). If you buy a complete bike they will powdercoat your frame any color you want and they are right up the street from TBC's headquarters so stock is normally not a problem. Disclaimer: I did not buy my bike from DNZ and found them afterwards but their customer service was awesome for the parts I did buy and they test everything they sell which is cool.

Wow thanks for the info, Ill go check out the site.. my hecker was right around 34 lbs, as a 6 inch travel bike, and it went up great with the fox float R. I also love to shuttle, I ride snowbasin alot as its only 25 minutes rom my house, and thats where they had the mens down hill at the 02 winter olypmpics.. they have a huge mountain for biking, and the gondola service is 20 beans for all day..

THanks again

Lane

Lane, good luck with the build up and have fun! Let me know if you need any more info or help finding parts. I'm jealous of your location!

Ade, for my weekly rides around here I go to Reston, Wakefield and Fountainhead with an occasional trip up to Shaeffer. For the big bike, it was either the Frederick Watershed or a day trip to Wisp Ski Resort for shuttle service. Wisp opens this weekend and we are riding up there in a few weeks but I will be on the Covert this time. I still think it will be fun as there are probably only one, may two, trails that I wouldn't ride at Wisp on the Covert...just might not go as fast as on the Blindside!

I'm about an hour north of the city- one of my favourite places is blue mountain. I don't know if you've been there, but it is hours of nice flowing single track with some technical stuff as well.

I was up at Stewart for a race a couple of weeks ago. I really like Jockey Hill too...
