how could you bring it in to the country as a 2007? Didn't know russian Defenders had the same rear crossmember as NAS 90s as well.

I would venture to say that he intends on taking your money then laughing when US customs crushes the vehicle... Just my 2 pennies...

is the crushing of illegal imports definitely true? I've heard that they will give you the option to take back outta the country. Does sound like an urban legend but I wouldn't put anything past customs.

True... I'm sure Doug (130tdi) would be the authority on US customs COA's.

I'm with Jay on this one "what, you can't import it in to the US? Sorry I'm in Russia, I can't help you"

It's true

They have contractors to de-mob them before crushing

And they crush everything

Only thing not "crushed" is fluids

Can you ship it to mexico and drive it into the us?

I have a buddy who is an importer who thinks he can have them imported and registered in TX as farm vehicles. The taxes are high though and wind up getting a 110 to around 75K.

The US gov't may frown upon a Defender registered in Russia being driven into the US via Mexico with the registered owner nowhere to be found. haha
