they obviously didn't do any market research in the US.

Don't they know that rappers and NFL rookie players drive only drive blinged-out Escalades, NOT Defenders! (I even think it's written somewhere in their contracts)

Not saying that I wouldn't like to own it, just that if you gave it to me or I won it in a contest, the first thing I'd do would be to remove all the chrome and install the proper 130 deep dish wheels.

Also, GL getting that through customs

I will love when it sells for like $30K vs $200K. Given their penchant for customer service relations and up-beat attitude!

You don't actually expect the auction to end when it's supposed to, right? They'll pull the listing 3 hours before the end or something like that.

Here you can see it. All bids were wiped because berkshire pulled the listing yesterday right before the hammer dropped, but it says "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available."

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985-...item4ab9953de2

Hard to believe it's no longer available since it's listed once again today.

anybody willing to pay $170k in the US isn't an enthusiast that know what they cost. That said, non-enthusiasts in the US are not going to have any idea what "bespoke" means since it's a Brit term. My guess is that the interested buyers/pro-sport playahhs will see the highlighted term bespoke as some fancified version of spoke, as in rim or wheel. You know, jock-logic.

If they want to get over $150, they need to have a flat screen tv rise up automatically out of something. I don't care where it's at.

eBay scam artists! Not the bidders...but rather the seller.

You can. Its usually under the username. Report the item for Avoiding Reserve Fees, under Avoiding eBay Fees.

They really do clog up the page with all their crap.

Someone want to tell me why my posts are being edited without my consent? Not cool...the above was not what I wrote originally.

Seriously? We have edits and deletions going on?

Do they even send a PM or something to let you know about it?

I'm embarrassed to say...I'm pretty sure I had a brain lapse on this one. I *thought* I had put something down, but then in a moment of mercy I think I changed it after my initial post. So - on this one in particular, the only culpable suspect is yours truly. Sorry if I got anyone riled up...I was too for a minute!

Phew!! Glad to hear it. Wouldn't like to think we have unannounced editing and deleting going on. Editing with announcement for obvious rule violations are one thing but unannounced tinkering would piss me off as well.

Glad it was a false alarm.
