Not the first time it's been for sale.

http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...ad.php?t=48923

I had reached out to the seller back in October but never heard back. I'd assumed it had sold, but I guess he was just either getting too many spam e-mails or wasn't really concentrating all that hard on selling it.

Description:
1997 Defender 90 NAS
€ V8/AT
€ Borla custom exhaust
€ Warn m8000 winch
€ Hella off road lights
€ Rear work light
€ Trailer hitch
€ Safarigard tailgate
€ Undercoated
Mileage is estimated at 90,000 miles (True miles unknown, odometer not working). The frame has been welded on the passenger side rear and undercoated in 2012. New brake lines and calipers in 2011. It needs new rear bearings and new tires all around. Both doors are rusted and need to be replaced. Side steps are beginning to rust. The tailgate also has some rust starting but could be cleaned and painted. ECU replaced in January 2007. Serpentine belt replaced March 2010. Water pump replaced in March 2007.

Tempting.

This plus a big check to Trevor and you would have a nice truck.

To put that truck to standards will require $ 20,000 minimum ( if done at a shop )

so will leave you with a 40k 97

There are better examples at that price level

Ron, I've learned all things in Defender valuation from your posts and now this??
I thought for sure you'd say 12,700, not a penny more...

If it had boosts, that'd be a $20k truck all day long.

A running, rusted 97 D90 is ~15k all day long buy on the spot if not salvage. Low miles adds a bit. Assuming it has a clear carfax and title with the extra goodies, fact it is an ST, good color, $17-18k is a good deal.

What was the last non-salvage NAS D90 that sold for $12,700 that was for sale for more than a few hours? This is not 09/10 anymore at the depths of the recession. The only stuff that sells in the mid teens non-salvage are rusty 94/95 and hacked up off roaders.
