1987 Defender 110 Pickup

Look at this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Land-...QQcmdZViewItem . I looked at this truck at Reborn Co in NC. It has a homemade dash due to the conversion from RHD to LHD. It also has had a VIN swap. Decode the VIN it is not even a Defender Vin but rather a RRC VIN. Buyer Beware!

the quality of conversion aside- that 2.5 petrol with an a/c compressor on it has got to be anemic

I was thinking about adding that to the Rovers that Suck thread. What's up with that dash? Reborn Co appear to be old hats at the "Ship of Theseus" school of Defender importation and restoration. I wouldn't touch something that came from them.

I'm watching this one closely as I have a white v8 pickup that's still rhd with an arb bumper new hoop set and canvas that needs to go. Its missing all the hokey modifications this one has.

I love the line, "You can fix this truck with duct tape and a screwdriver."

They did.

I don't think this one will be a very good indication of the value of your's. This one looks like butt. Who could think that roll cage is OK?

I'm still puzzling over that dash - is it a SIII dash that's been line-x'd? Maybe a Santana part? Git-r-dun? Nice blanked out 3rd guage, I'd hate to spring for the 25 bucks to put something useful there.

There's all kind of reasons to hate on this truck, but I forgive a lot since the reserve is met - at least it means the guy doesn't think its worth 60k.

it was for sale on ebay for 17k for a long, long time.

Kelly went to NC and looked at it and said it looked rough at the time. Someone has cleaned this up quite a bit.
The third gauge thing is pretty normal on early trucks they put an optional volt or ammeter there (never figured out which it is).

They said that they actually made that dash at Reborn. I think they said they made it because the factory dash stuff was to highly priced or something of that nature. This thing use to be a ambulance.

This rig is still listed for sale on the rebornco site for $19k. They also have a very nice '68 110csw in woodcote green. And we all thought 110s weren't built until '83.

Kelly,
I'm just happy because we have what I think is a better truck although its rhd. This truck/hack job/illegal import is bid much higher than I thought mine should be worth.

You are in that business- what do you think ?

Doug it looks good to me. How much were you asking for that one again? Looks like you have updated the site.

'82 actually for the pre production ones. and dougs white 83 is a beaut, it drove well when we collect it for him, it was a good base vehicle, and doug has done a great job turning it into a superb truck.
