Looks like they cut down a standard 2 door 110 canvas top, removed the door tops, and made up a bit of a cage. Wonder what the key hole in the rf outer wing does ? Must be a leaky rover-2 quarts of oil ready to go in the passenger front floor.

For 43K I would at least like a spare tire, maybe the plate in the right place, maybe door tops.

Why does the listing say the built it, when it looks from the other thread that it was a UK build?

Motor kit was a UK build.

Also, Chris had said it has door tops, just not in those pics (shows them in the other thread though)...I think they were still working on the rear door/window seal with the top as can be seen from a few of the pics in the other thread.

It was built by Vertucci. I sold my last D90 to him and he told me about the build he was doing.

That cage looks like what happens when someone thinks they can make one cheaper than they can buy one - its all wrong and looks like complete crap.

They made no effort to set up a gutter kit over the second row doors, so the top fits incredibly poorly in that area.

The doors weren't removed when the truck was painted, so there is paint on the plastic hinge buffers etc.

Why is there a lock on the fender?

This just looks like a project that someone half-assed and lost interest in.

Finally...I don't like to bag on other people's trucks, unless it comes to Horsey, but this thing is not anything to drool over...

I bite my tongue a lot to be honest - there are just well-considered and ill-considered ways of doing things. I don't want to dog out a newbie for trying a project, and pissing on someone's ad is poor form, but in this case, I think of the perspective of a guy who is just reading the forum trying to learn something about Defenders or old import 110s and I suspect that they'd rather read something critical, if nit-picky, that helps they figure out what right looks like or anything at all that keeps them from getting screwed on a crap truck.
