1983 Land Rover 110 on BAT

1983 Land Rover Defender 110 County | Bring a Trailer Not Mine

The comments section is ripe with disapproval. Current bid is at a hefty $210. Putting aside BAT's misuse of the Defender name, what do people here think?

Suggestions from the BAT comments about the engine are
"Woof woof ! I am pretty certain that is a 90s Euro Ford Transit 2.5 DI engine. A gnarly Ca 70BHP beast . I can’t imagine too many people were sad to see this cream puff cross the Atlantic………"

"from what I can tell in the ad the engine is probably a Perkins 2.2 liter that Mazda built and was in the Ford Ranger but I may be wrong."

Here are the rest of the engine pictures.

The current bidding reflects the fact that even on Bring a Trailer crap is crap. How did this get into the US with a Ford engine? It even has a a BIG ford logo on the valve cover. I guess you could make an okay truck out of it if you get it at a low enough price to replace almost everything.
