1971 Porsche 911T Targa $6500

Need space. Black, last year of carbs (recently rebuilt) in the US and last year of dog leg 901 transmission.

Not perfect, but would be a decent driver for someone.

Have seen this. Its trapped in the garage by a bunch of rover v8's on carts. Having had a couple 911's it was calling me the whole time I was in there.....

Here are the pics from when i bought it (they are legit downloads, no worries).

http://www.thepocketsolution.com/Ad...alTargaPics.zip

http://www.thepocketsolution.com/Ad...lTargaPics2.zip

It now has a herringbone aftermarket racing drivers seat and a genuine porsche non-sport passenger seat now and it has four new tires. Front fenders are fiberglass.

You really have to come see it though. The current issue are two rust spots. One on the longitudinal which you can see in these pictures before I cut the rust out (it comes with a whole section of a tub for a patch panel). This was what haulted my progress on it as I ran out of weather that year trying to get the torions bars out in the back (the pics show it slammed with smaller tires, I put on 205 75 R14s and got the front up, but the back torsion bars would not come out). Also, a small rust spot one at the front on the underside. Probably could use new batteries or ideally the single batter conversion. Could use some paint as least on the repairs on the fenders. Originally it was metallic silver.

Edit: clear PA title in hand.

Having nothing useful to contribute as a non-owner, I try to be as helpful as possible elsewhere. :-)

Good luck with the sale. My 2 cents for a change, On most 71's the rust starts out under the headlights and then at the door post at the lock keepers. Thats usually when its time to move on. As we all flame other posters about poictures of critical area's.... For 15K I have a cherry 88 with NO ISSUES at all.

This has had some fairly major rust work done already (as most pre 77 cars have or needed). At this point it is just maintaince. The headlights are a non-issue as the front fenders are fiberglass.

Bump

How's the sale going, Ron?

Just saw the Wheeler Dealers 1976 Targa 911 US Spec tonight that they sold for 8,450 pounds...finally made a profit!

Well considering I only advertised it in the flea market section of this website, I am getting the number of hits I would expect.

Yes, and 8600ukp = about $14k US and the 76 is worth much less than the 73 and down "long nose" cars.
