110 Shell on Craigslist - Socal

Saw this looking on CL, The guy has it listed as an 1980 which isnt right for a 110. Might be worth it for the right person.

That and all the parts I have, you could have a 110 too. :-)

That's definitely a 1980"ish" ROW 110. Somebody could part this out and make some $$.

I don't believe they made 110's in 1980.

well, if it were a 1980 it would be a Series. Coil sprung 110's didnt start production till 83 iirc, and since its a coil chassis somethings off. I contacted the guy and tried to get the VIN so i could decode what the truck really was but at the time he wasn't at the shop where it was located and didn't have the VIN offhand and never got back to me after that.

Beware of this one.

I talked to the guy a couple weeks ago and he says no paperwork or vin on it???? I think he did a vin swap with a newer 110 and thats what he has left...

Either way has some nuts to say all that on the phone to a stranger.

Split Doors

I wonder if the split doors are in good shape. Those might be worth quite a bit.

Be interesting to pull the vin off the chassis and see what became of that ID.

Well, if it was brought in for a VIN swap then I imagine the truck with that VIN is registered and rolling around somewhere unless they swapped frames. When i spoke with him on the phone he said that he didnt have a title, only a bill of sale. I asked if the VIN was clean and he said he would talk to a friend that works at the DMV and have them run the VIN and see what comes back. I sent him a text a week or so later to see what he had found out from his friend at the DMV and he never replied after that. I had also asked if the there was any rot, and he said yes there was but he didnt specify where.

I was thinking the doors alone if in any decent shape would be worth the price. Especially if they are split doors.
