Silly question. Thinking from the factory the rivets that hold the build plate were painted black. These are painted black but show signs of being polished from a buffer or similar. If OEM was black, why do we see so many trucks with without the painted rivets?

The badge looks to me like he sanded the raised section to kind of buff/polish it.

I understand the paint was removed due to buff/polish. I am questioning why so many trucks have rivets with no paint. I understand if the badge was removed for a respray, but I am wondering if LR just wasn't consistent back then. Some were painted, some not.
