The SandGlow Experiment

Ordered a can of 2part Sand Glow ( LRC361 code ) paint. Going to paint something so my wife can see, as her input is paint color. Amazing how iPad changes it from cap, iPad looks a lot more yellow. Will post follow up pics.

Cap splash

Here is color in cap.

I am 100% sure this will look different on any screen vs with eyes on.

That is a great color and will look different than the cap, but in a good way, when on the vehicle.

Rift- more photos!

I sourced paint from a website called 66 AutoColor. About 35.00 to my door. Just ensure you specify LR paint code, and add in any DuPont, ICI, etc codes that are the same. They will ask for original make, model, and year, so the rarer colors will get you confirmatory emails from them.

Trying to figure out what item/scrap I should paint for my example. Kind of a shame to pop the 2-stage can and have to either use it all, or it goes bad. If anyone in Tampa area needs something painted this color, let me know.

So she loves the "Anvil" Jeep color. It is a great color, but on a D110... Seems like heresy. Then again, CT color has a legacy attached to it. First world problems, lol.

Either way, Anvil or Sandglow will pair with white of limestone roof, and probably either body color or black grill and light surrounds. Am resisting the urge to have Masai winch bumper galvy'd.

Here's a few from my phone. The color changes a lot depending on the lighting. I worried a little about using the CT color but in the end I loved it so much I just went for it. Mine is all single stage PPG. You can get single stahe spray cans from Tower Paint as mentioned.

I like the Anvil Jeep color also, but mainly because it (to my eye) resembles Arles Blue, a Defender color. So consider Arles Blue as a substitute and you might be able to avoid becoming a heretic.

Rift-great pics, cool trucks. Wife's fear is it will come out looking "flesh-y". Some yellows do.

Meat- the place i bought from also does a single stage. I think they recommend a clear coat?

I may lose this fight. Anvil is a little more grey than Arles to my eye. In the end, I expect to see out the windscreen more often than contemplate the 110.

This coming weekends experiment will either sway her or not. And I really do want her to pick, give her ownership of the process. I already got my preferences like 300TDi w VNT, Puma bulkhead and dash, Etc.

Experiment concluded.
She found two in Marine Blue, and thinks it is very close to Jeep's Anvil color. So I am going to have a 110 with Wrangler paint.
It is karma for my field expedient center cap on the Disco.
