ST Window Top Rehab

I am almost finished with my soft top window top project. I completely stripped them down, re-painted them (Portofino Red) and have installed the Garrison Outfitters EPDM window channels http://www.garrisonoutfitters.com/ProductPage1.html

If anyone is interested, I would be glad to share my experience and some tips.
The Garrison kit is very complete and the instructions are pretty good. The key, as I found out, is to really get the channels absolutely clean of debris from age and the residual glue/fibers from the old felt.

Found a neat way to resolve the issue of water ingress at the studs. All it requires is a 3/8" x 1/2" grommet.

On my fathers 90 I have never had that problem with water coming down the studs. But on the 90 door tops on my series I have that problem now, before with the british bulldog doortops and factory rubber with no foam bits it never leaked. I think it has something to do with the rubber gasket between the door top and door bottom.

I ordered the the replacement gasket, but after comparing them with the original, I decided to re-use the originals. The little foam blocks are what I have found to be insufficient and my grommet fix eliminates the need for them @ the studs.
