Seat Box Corner Protection

A real small project - maybe even too small to post but did a job today that fixes a annoying thing I had going on.

Bought a new seat box cover right when I got the 90 years ago but the edge has worn out recently from getting in an out and dragging my shoes on it. Usually wearing hiking boots and usually muddy probably did it faster than the Italian crafter loafers. It looked like shit every time I got in and it was wearing on me. I had some extra aluminum sheet of diamond plate and fabbed something up.

I was able to tie it to 3 bolts and it seems to be in there pretty solidly. BTW, the bends were a bitch!

Tool another picture in the garage. Jeff - was thinking about painting it but was worried that the same rubbing that blew up the fabric would cause the paint to rub off. But may do it next time I pull the seat. Btw, I have those pics for you - just need to get them all together in an email.

Airborn - thanks for the props. Sometimes its the small silly stuff that puts the bigger smile on the face.

Thanks - it's been working great although I haven't driven the 90 all that much since I've done it. But have been working in and around it. The only downside I have found is when I was doing the clutch and crawing into the footwell the edge was getting my back - a little angle grinder flap disc and some light hammering should take off the point.
