Post 2002 Door

My old door was cracked and beaten on my '97 NAS so I pieced together a post-2002 style door. Bought a new bare door from the UK. It ended up not being too bad and I reused a decent amount of hardware from the old door. This link helped a ton with a few random part numbers that I needed. I was definitely surprised at how fast the shipping was on a lot of stuff from the UK. Faster than what I have experienced from the major parts sources here in the states.

Looks good! I've got one sitting in my garage I have been trying to motivate myself to go get painted Thanks for that link.

Are you using a Discovery 2 tire mount?

despite what most people on here seem to think the UK is not a 3rd world country ... just because the ignore emails ... and taking off the VAT prices are much better!

I had a Mantec carrier on before the swap so I decided to keep it since it was already drilled into the body. All I needed was a new backing plate that fit the different mounting holes on the new style door but other than that every fit perfectly.

With that being said, if I hadn't already had the mantec I would have just went with the Disco mount. Solid and simple!

Cool, I also have a 2002+ rear door awaiting bandwidth to go on. I also have a Mantec carrier. Where did you get the new backing plate, from Mantec?

Cheers,
John
