Ok, have to ask the group on a serious note here........some have suggested I abandon the Terrafirma tubular bumper and go CT instead....better able to handle the limb risers and no need for light protection cages as the CT gadget has them in place.

Anyone ever do what NLX has done....my other option is to us quick fists on the Terrafirma bumper, put a stainless bar across the top, and put Limb risers on it.....sort of a hack job that may or may not work...it would certainly look funny/ugly...but it would avoid drilling into the wings or having the wings take load with limb hits. I emailed NLX for their experience with the fender/wing support points....but they are in jungles and actually see more limb riser need than 99% of people...but they might say "wish we had CT units now" and their trucks are mixed in how the risers are done....suggesting perhaps some insight along the way....

Thanks in advance!

jeff

I would just have a hard time feeling good about attaching the limb riser to the wing like that. I'd be worried about doing more than paint scratches...having that bolt pull out...not a good thing.

Right now there is a plate (5mm) on top of the fender as per the picture...and the NLX pictures are not really good at showing how they did it...

Are you saying to add another plate in the mix on top of this and perhaps two screws or a BIG stainless piece? Could you scratch a picture...not sure I understand and Dale is not keen on this solution at all....so I am trying to either do it right or abandon it. My tree driving days will probably be few, but when I do them I don't want to rip the truck apart either.

TIA

Jeff

That is correct. The mount it directly to the diamond plate. nothing fancy. I drove the NLX crew cab 110 for a week, and made a note of almost everything.

Thank you.

Just drilled right in..

Anyway, at a greater cost the attached is the other idea... I am leaning to the better engineeering solution...the CT unit.
