NAS 110 cage on a 83 110

http://dividingcreekroverimports.com/recent_projects

Ron Brown and Ron Peppard supplied the used NAS 110 parts.
The sliders are all Charles Galpin-modified version of what he made for Janey. This used to be Tony (ABrooks) truck.

Nice work. It is interesting to see how cream colored alpine really is compared to the white on the truck (I know Pete the owner does not care).

Man, that must have been a PITA installing that on an old 110. Getting all the mounts installed in and under the body is a hassle on a half-disassembled truck...

BINGO ! Plus the cage was somewhat "tweaked". Ie I used two all thread 5 inch bolts and went through the interior mounts out and then into the cage flanges to pull the rear cage hoop to the truck. On the initial fitting one flange was touching the tub the other was 9 inches away from the tub. Even my large self couldnt push it in more than an inch- those things are stout.

On the color- the rustoleum I snagged for the sliders wasn't even close. I was going to repaint them, he said not to even worry about it. He's going to wheel it. The truck is headed to Bill @ GBR for lockers and custom front drive shaft.

Oh, the irony . . . Tony bought the winch bumper from me, I bought from a guy out in Idaho or somewhere and had it "Forward Air'd" out to Nova.

whats 17 inches. Surely you can overcome that handicap with your skill set. Early 127's had an extension welded into a standard 110 frame and then the frame was plated the entire length between the suspension ears, so twice as thick in the vulnerable area's.

WAAAAAAAAA WHOOOOOOOOOOO the 110 is on the truck headed for Idaho ! ! !

I want to say a HEARTY THANK YOU to everyone who supplied parts and help on getting me this vehicle. It is literally a dream come true. I have wanted a 110 since the first Gulf war. I was there when the British 7th Armoured Brigade came ashore at Al-Jubail Saudi Arabia. That was in the fall of 1990 and they set up next to us in the Desert. I routinely saw their 110s go places Humvees got stuck.

Thanks to Doug for putting up with my constant "can we do this?" changes of plans, THERE WERE MANY... I am sure I drove him crazy even though the claims no big deal.

Again I want to say Sorry to Tony for having to sell his 110 but it will go to a good home. Also thanks for running down all the paperwork. I REALLY APPRECIATE all that ! ! !

So begins the obsession...

Peter, great looking truck! If the economy had been better, I would have been all over your 110. Even more so after seeing it with the full NAS cage. Better keep it locked at night, as Idaho can't be that far of a drive from GA.
