First shots look like a high-lift holder on the spare. The next is a tube bender. What are you building Carter?

Charles, I'm not wanting to reveal it quite yet, but what you're looking at is the culmination of several things that I have had going on in my life and a lot of ideas I've had bouncing around in my head that I'm finally putting to metal.

It's been a slow process as I've been documenting everything I have done, getting all the CAD files in order, and prepping for fixture and jig work.

So with that being said, here's another teaser from tonight.

Burned most everything in tonight. I'm still trying to get the hang of this whole welding thing.

Well I didn't get much done tonight. I had work, and then class, but this did give me a chance to burn in the rest of the parts.

So I ask... why MIG, when you can TIG?

Looks like rear cage supports..... But I would guess they are slider brackets for the center of the slider.. MAYBE....

Exclamation

Well here they are, my extreme duty rock sliders.

These are my first prototype set, completely hand made. I primed and painted them over the last 2 days, and realized just how much I hate painting. Needless to say everything I do from here on out will be powder coated.

To my knowledge these are the first and only set of rock slider to ever be made for the Defender with boat sides, and the slider itself is constructed entirely from 0.250" steel.

I plan to start doing production runs of rock sliders, and offer 4 versions of rock slider, ranging from a mild stock replacement to these pictured here, as well as custom configurations. All production parts will laser cut and bent on a CNC brake. I'm also contemplating some DIY kits too for the at home welding enthusiast.

I have several other Defender product designs in que and I hope to start building those prototypes over the next few weeks.

So with all that said, let the criticism begin.
