Mission: Rear Headrests

My wife has been hassling me about headrests for the forward facing rear seat in my ST. For a while I had the excuse that my daughter was not tall enough to need them..well, she is taller now and I finally figured it out:

Bestop 39441-15 Trailmax Ii Fold and Tumble

Perfect fit and was on sale for $257.90!

Dave,
is the back taller than the stock rear seat?

I had sold mine off as when sitting in it, the top came to most adults shoulder blade area.
Would be nice if this is taller?

Much taller the top of this seat is a similar height to the LR one...then add the headrest.

Headrest is tall enough to be at the top of a 10 year-old's head.

alot of folks on this forum would appreciate pics and/or a writeup of what you did. I'd love to hear about how you modified the seat frame back, and what stock metal you used. I have 4 seats to do that to, and would love a shopping list. I have a friend that welds that can hook me up if I come with it in hand and have a design in mind. a pic of the frame without cover would have a lot of value to me.

I finally got this done on my middle row set of 40 (I have 2) and I am kicking myself how easy it was. 12" steel square bar from Lowes bench press drill, hand file and $20 for my local welder. Installed D2 headrests with the correct plastic bushing and ended up perfect. Once I put tan canvas seat covers on they'll look great. I can finally dump the full back of my kids' boosters this weekend which will give them more room.
