Isuzu 4JB1-T in a 110

Initial install and motor mount fabrication of a 4JB1-t into a 110 with a R380 Stumpy.
Used the large Mercedes hydraulic filled motor mounts that absorb most all the vibrations.

Motor mount prototype work:
Note the mounts bolt righ onto the existing frame mounts for the 2.25, 2.5.
That way the conversion is bolt in without any cutting or welding.
Later this summer we will make the same type of mount for the 200TDI and might even do the 300TDI this winter.

You are living on the edge. I pull the bonnet and the radiator and breakfast when r&r'ing an engine.

Very cool Robert!

Any changes needed to the pan?

What clutch setup are you running on this and are you running the same clutch setup on the OM617 rig?

Where do you source these motors? I did a quick google search and couldn't find much about them. I very well could be searching on the wrong parameters tho.

Those Merc motor mounts are going to start going up in price if you make them for the 2.5/200/300's!

Finally got a few hours trading time among a GM build and the 4JB1-T conversion.
Got the motor mounts and high output alternator installed.
The custom mounts bolt right to the original 2.25/2.5 4 cylinder frame mounts on the bottom with the top bolting directly to the engine.
In between is the big Mercedes hydraulic mount.
So there is no cutting and or welding to install, just a direct bolt in.
The engine looks high enough to clear any and all front end movement even with another 1/2" of spacer shims.

Anything worth doing is worth overdoing...

Planing on doing the 200TDI this fall and hope to get to the 300TDI bolt in mounts this winter. Both with the big Mercedes hydraulic mounts.

Looks good.

are these blocks similar to the 4BD1? IE could these motor mounts work with the 4bd1? You'd shut a few of those guys on Pirate up, haha.

NO.
Completely different.
Made for an SUV engine not a big delivery truck.

Intercooler hoses are in air cleaner installed.
Tyler was home and turned up the fuel to the sweet spot and added a waste gate bleed off to get more boost.

Fastest 110 I have ever driven.

Sweet - cool to hear its a strong setup.

Where do you source your IC pipes from? I am a while out but eventually want to do that setup on the Merc.

cxracing.com has the best prices on turbo plumbing parts. I ordered all my stuff from them. They carry universal fit intercoolers, ally and stainless pipe, silicone elbows and reducers, and the t-bolt clamps.

Nicely done. One of these days I'm going to spend an afternoon teaching you how to make up a tidy wiring harness.
