Exhaust Cutout?

Has anyone here ever heard of someone installing an exhaust cutout on a Land Rover?

I've been reading up on them, and apparently they can make an awesome noise, but more importantly are rumored to add horsepower in the top end (debatable). I've also heard that they can hurt low end torque.

Are there any benefits to having one of these things? Or are they just for teens in hoodies to make their ricers noisier? I just need facts!

I've used these on other cars. What I found is about a 2% hp increase on a 500hp car. This was with no cats and a decent dual 3" exhaust. If your going to keep the cats and no other HP mods, I wouldn't expect much HP wise. It'll be LOUD.

Jeg's and Summit have electric cutout's. Stock or loud by flipping a switch.

Take your exhaust off at the y-pipe. It's loud!

Or drive your truck until the cats puke themselves out the tailpipe and run a borla.

take a plasma cutter, cut the top of the cats open, smash out the guts, weld shut.
