Delicate front door windows

Does anyone have a fix for front door windows that come out of the window channels if the door is shut too forcefully. Having taken the door apart I found that the front edge of the window popped out of the vertical channel and actually stripped the two screws holding the channel to the aluminum shim attached to the door. Seems like a fragile arrangement. Any suggestions other then don't slam the doors closed with the windows down?

I cut an aluminum square bar in half, lined it with felt and pop riveted it in the old hole location. Crude but it kept the window from popping off the track

Here are two shots. One is of the upper section of the window channel and the other the lower section. One can see that the lower section of the window channel has pull free of the aluminum shim as the only screw there has stripped out of the channel. I thought of placing some adhesive between the shim and the channel and placing a larger screw through both but the screw head will block the window from rolling down completely. Open to any suggestions.

I downsized them to 134 KB on my MAC and can drag them over into the message box but they are not transmitted. Rookie at this. Must be another way...

OK. Lets try this. Top shot is the upper aspect of the window channel and bottom shot is the lower. There are only two small metal screws holding the channel to the aluminum shim to the door itself. Kind of a flimsy arrangement.
